A social utility, without a doubt!

A social utility, without a doubt!

9 out of 10 Quebecers consult the Publisac. It allows them to find deals and save money. In Quebec, low-income households are the most frequent users, with 80% of them consulting it once a week. It is a tool that help people save more than $1,000 per year. Publisac offers discounts on essential products such as food and pharmacy and creates competition among retailers. About 40% of Publisac’s flyers focus on food, and it is the most popular category.

Moreover, a shift to digital is not a solution we should be prioritizing. Consumers still prefer the paper format for comparison and planning. Not all low-income households and seniors have access to the Internet. Only 68.5% of Quebec households with an income under $30,000 are connected to the Internet, and only 11% of people consult flyers only in digital format.

AN IMPORTANT SOURCE OF INFORMATION

The Publisac is a first-rate distribution vehicle for weeklies in Québec, an important source of local information that promotes democracy. With other distribution options being significantly more costly, the business model for a large proportion of weeklies would be at serious risk without the Publisac.

In addition, faced with the new global e-commerce giants, flyers help local and regional businesses, small and large, attract nearby customers to the store. Without the Publisac, businesses would be deprived of an effective promotional tool. Indeed, most flyers in the Publisac promote local businesses owned by local entrepreneurs.

All our bags are personalized to reach the local business customers. We work with our clients to optimize the type of paper used, flyer sizes and quantities distributed through better targeting of postal codes. We can target according to the socio-demographic profile sought by our clients, and thus create 6,500 different versions of the Publisac content each week and distribute it to more than 4,000 routes.
